What’s in it for me?

By participating in the SMART Driving programme you will have learned four approaches to improve fuel economy and reduce fuel consumption.

Using what you have learned on the SMART Driving programme drivers will immediately show savings in fuel, automatically leading to increased profit.

You can capitalise on these savings by registering with Enprova.

  2. Create an action plan using the online tool and your login details
  3. Upload your fuel-saving results each quarter
  4. Receive annual payment based on savings
How do I calculate my savings?

Go to the SMART Driving website to register your fleet with Enprova and upload your quarterly fuel savings. Enprova will calculate your savings and present them back to you. You next draw down the funds in Q2 of each year.

Is there any cost to my business?

No, there is no cost to your business. By registering with Enprova using the SMART Driving website, the app and supports are all free of charge.

        What are the savings?

The savings are based on litres per 100 km.

You are eligible for 1000 euro in savings for every 10,000 litres of fuel you save.

It is a one-off payment. You only get paid once per one saving.

How does the Enprova scheme work?

Enprova must be involved in the project from the start.

Once a quarter you submit total litres and a total distance. Using this information, Enprova will work out how much the litres per 100 km. Each quarter vs last year you will see savings. Enprova will pay you a one-off payment for each quarterly saving.

I would like more information on sign up - How can I collect?
        1. Upload your results onto the Enprova – this is a quarterly upload. You will get multi-year, year on year trending with a breakdown of your total fuel, total distance etc.
When uploading your evidence file for this you can use a spreadsheet or report, or a photo of your dashboard. This updates the graph and shows you how much you have saved (for example, enter the data you use for the Diesel Rebate Scheme).
        2. Login each quarter to upload your information
        3. At Q3 of each year, your data is counted and enters a quality assurance process
        4. After a quality assurance review, your data is passed to SEAI in summary format
        5. In Q1 of the following year, the Minister will review and authorise
        6. Requests for invoices are submitted in Q2
        7. Payment occurs in Q2 of the following year
What happens if I don’t save fuel?

There is no penalty for not saving fuel, just move on to the next reporting period and see can you improve vs last year.

Is there any cost to my business?

No, there is no cost to your business. Using the app and supports is free of charge provided you are signed up with Enprova.

How often do I get paid?

                  Testimonials

This programme will help the transport industry recruit new people into being a HGV driver and elevate this career into a choice that more young people might consider.

SMART Driving will help drivers deal with this new world while best availing of and utilising the new technologies and practises all around us. This upskilling programme will help drivers get a better understanding of their modern work environment and equipment, thus helping to create a safer and compliant delivery of service.

I look forward to both Driver’s and Transport operators engaging with this upskilling opportunity, allowing for feedback from both inside and outside the cab, which can then feed into this course, helping it to evolve to meet an ever-changing landscape of technology and regulation.
